1 Sixteenth Amendment
Поправка к Конституции США [ Constitution, U.S.], ратифицирована 25 февраля 1913. Предусматривает право Конгресса США [ Congress, U.S.] "устанавливать и взимать налоги с доходов, каким бы ни был их источник, не распределяя эти налоги между отдельными штатами и без учета переписи или какого-либо другого исчисления населения" ["to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration"]. 2 Constitutional Amendment
1) Одна из 27 поправок к Конституции США [ Constitution of the United States], принимавшихся с 1791 по 1992. Первые 10 поправок вошли в историю под названием Билля о правах [ Bill of Rights]. 27-я поправка, ратифицированная в 1992, установила, что любое решение о повышении жалования члена Конгресса вступает в силу только после следующих выборов. Процедура принятия поправок в целом регулируется Статьей V Конституции. После принятия текста поправки 2/3 голосов членов обеих палат Конгресса [ Congress, U.S.] она предлагается на ратификацию штатам и считается принятой при ратификации 3/4 законодательных собраний штатов.
